FAQ
HOW CAN I APPLY FOR MY CT PISTOL PERMIT?
In order to apply for your CT Pistol Permit, you are required to take an NRA or NRA Equivalent class. This would require an 8 hours course, to include a live-fire of at least 50 rounds.
I'VE FOUND CLASSES CHEAPER ELSEWHERE, WHY ARE YOU MORE EXPENSIVE?
"Caveat Emptor" - Latin for "Let the buyer beware"
Other classes don't necessarily meet the minimum requirements as set forth by the State of CT. Certificates may be issued but what will happen when those instructors are caught falsifying the MINIMUM training requirements?
Here at Safe Life Protection, we don't teach the MINIMUM requirements. We teach more than that and when you leave our classroom and range time, you will feel more confident about handling firearms than you ever were.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
We require that if you are going to cancel a class, that you give us a minimum 10 days of advanced notice. This will allow us to find additional students.
10+ days notice, FULL refund
<5 days but >2 days, 50% refund.
< 2 days, 0% refund
HOW CAN I FOND A NOTARY FOR MY PERMIT APPLICATION?
If you take my classes, I am a CT Notary and can notarize your applications, FREE of charge as long as you are a student. If you are not a student or a former student, then I charge $5 per notarized page.
DO YOU HAVE ANY PROGRAMS OTHER THAN THOSE INVOLVING FIREARMS?
Yes! We offer
-
American Heart Association CPR/AED & 1st Aid Classes
-
NRA Refuse to be a Victim (RTBAV)
I'M PREGNANT, WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO TAKE YOUR COURSE?
Well, that is entirely up to you! The noise isn't going to hurt the baby and we have had pregnant students before.

We will provide you with the following:
-
Rubber (Non-Latex) Gloves
-
N95 Mask
-
Hearing Protection
-
Eye Protection

The gloves and the mask are to prevent the inhalation of lead particles or the absorption of lead particles through the skin.
